Preliminary Exercise We were given the task to create a short extract including certain conventions. This involved filming and editing: A character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down on a chair opposite, another character with whom he/she exchanged lines of dialogue, including match on action, shot-reverse-shot sequences and the 180 degree rule.
- we did this in order to gain ideas for our main production & how to construct a production with verisimilitude.
Story Board:- After deciding what our idea will be based on - an interview for a job, we constructed a story board of what we think our production will look like. We included all of the conventions above.

After completing the task above, we were given a genre to complete a short film opening. We were given the genre of thriller.
